Suggestion: GW Mail
may have already been suggested. But have an "Email" system for GW.
Players can send a message to other players that can be viewd at any time, deleted or saved.
This way if you can send invites to your guild, request a guild (lets say you know who the guild leader is, but he is not online, and you need to go to work or something....you can send him a message giving him your in-game details and can accept/send invite to you when they get the chance)
Or lets say you know some people who are relatively new to the game...so you write up a "tutorial" or "tips" guide that you can send to them or friends so they can more easily become familiar with the game.
This will actually help Guru out as well for Auctions and Buy/Selling because the person can send a message to the buyer or seller saying they would like to buy/sell the item they saw.
This will also help guilds out (because the announcments thing is too small) they can include dates, times, builds, setups, etc. to all the guild members so the ycan get a better feel for when GvGs, ABs, etc. are taking place.
There are countless ways this can be helpful, you can send people entire messages containing info they may want or find useful...Example: Lets say a player has not been to the Granite Citadel yet, a friends can send them a message containing all the required materials and total cost to the player. (unless they really really wanna search around Wiki)
Yada, Yada, the list goes on

It has indeed been suggested.
It just seems to me that it would increase their operating costs which is a no-no when you're trying to run a free to play game.

what we already have ways of saving and sending builds to other players...couldnt we somehow do the same? when the Mail is made it saves a temp file onto the persons GW directory, and when the players logs on, it triggers, grabs that file and sends it, them deleted the temp file and saves the new mail on the recipients GW directory....so like a transfer.

That would still increase server traffic on ANet's servers and would grant players access to mail logs.
